I liked this book, but as I havent read anything else by Terry Pratchett I dont know how this compares. I believe this book is number 25 in the series and I probably would have prefered to start with book one as I was at least 100 pages in before I 'got it'. For this reason I did think the story got off to a slow start and didnt really come together quick enough. The charactors are all very funny in a stereotypical way and you cant help drawing comparisons with actual broadsheets/ tabloids which is probably intentional. The book paints a picture of a strange old world with humans living along side trolls, dwarfs, vampires, werewolves and talking animals. The plot centres around the Ankh MorPork Times and William's search for the Truth and he launches the city's first ever newspaper.
I would recommend for teenagers and lovers of fantasy fiction.
