A black and white graphic novel written by a Canadian Québécois animator, chronicling his two month experience as a contractor in Pyongyang, North Korea. Slightly comedic in style, this memoir highlights the bizarre Orwellian reality that is North Korean society. This is a deeply disturbing albeit completely fascinating account of radical nationalism, and admiration for a leader that borders on religious idolatry. A must read for anyone who enjoys dystopian science-fiction, and wants to realize that such a place currently exists. As an American, I felt a deep appreciation for many seemingly insignificant freedoms.
