READ the BOOK. BEWARE the MOVIE. (Unless you like really bad movies, that is. Then, by all means, be my guest.)
B.O.T.V. takes the racial politics of New York (really, of the whole country), lays them bare, and skewers them gloriously. Has much of the feel of HBO's "The Wire", in that it covers the political strata, (cops, lawyers, activists, the mayor, and the book's hapless protagonist).
