I was chomping at the bit for this book and I have to say that I was not disappointed. This book manages to address many very serious issues in a way that teens can relate to.
I the truth of the matter is...we are not as far from this story being a reality as we would like to believe. Young women sell their off-spring everyday. The only difference between where we are now and the premis of the book being that we don't have the time clock of a "womb closing virus" to make the mass commercialization of the practice a reality.
Though this book ia marketed to teens, it really made me, a thirty-something mother of three girls stop and think. Could I really let one or all of my daughters sell themselves to the highest bidder? What about love and choice.
I am going to have my 13-year old daughter read this and see what she thinks.
When is the next book due?
