It took me a little while to get into this book, but once I did, I really enjoyed it. It felt somewhat like Mote in God's Eye/Gripping Hand, and I was sad when it ended, because they'd set up a neat world and neat humans and aliens, and I wanted to know more. It appears from reading other reviews that perhaps this is the beginning of a series(?), so that pleases me.
