it was amazing
bookshelves: top-10
Read from July 11 to October 18, 2011

This is my second time reading this amazing book. In Germinal Zola presented us an very thorough, detailed study of human nature and various characters, and their effect on the society (and vice versa). Book starts slow with detailed description of work in coal mine and miner's life in general. As story goes onward tempo becomes faster, as well story become more action-packed.

Germinal has the best ending I read so far. After reading last chapter, I felt full of hope for better life of 'ordinary hard-working man' and also rebellious against large capitalistic corporations.
