A very relaxing book. Really just a collection of vingettes, it doesn't have a plot that carries through the whole book except for the sections on Mr. Toad. Unfortunately, I found Mr. Toad to be too unlikeable to make me sympathetic enough to enjoy his stories, but I did like the other characters. Their simple lives and adventures were like a breath of fresh air, but ultimately not as satisfying as they could be without some sort of plot to hang it all on.
