This new series starts out strong with Nearly Departed in Deadwood, chock full of quirky characters and a great comedic voice. The amateur sleuth, new real estate agent Violet Parker, is in triple trouble – she must sell a house or lose her job, young girls who resemble her daughter have gone missing, and a co-worker is making her life hell. In between showing houses to several clients, Violet has to figure out who’s behind these mysterious disappearances and why. With romance and humor, NDD kept my interest with every chapter, and given its satisfying ending, I’m looking forward to the next “showing.”
