Another lively conversation would not advise reading this and above book right after each other, but discussion also lead to comparison of two women and their life’s journey. Book keeps interest as she thinks of becoming a nun, meets a monk in a Christian Monastery in Syrian Desert, and studies the Quran with a female Muslim scholar.

The Bread of Angels: A Journey to Love and Faith” by Stephanie Saldana, a Harvard Divinity School graduate who gets a Fulbright to Syria. Her journey takes her from the souk in the old city of Damascus to an Orthodox Christian monastery in the desert, where, to her great surprise, she finds love. Led to a discussion: Is it a pilgrimage if you set off without knowing where you’re going? (Feb 2013 - Cambridge 2)
