This was a pretty stunning book. I loved the way he maintained a child's perspective throughout as he described this incredibly dysfunctional world where adults failed children at every turn. Yet you could also see glimpses throughout of things he must have discovered as an adult on a therapist's couch. which made it more believable. I would have given it more stars, except that I was disappointed by where it ended. The ending (no spoilers here) was true to the spirit of the rest of the book, but I would have liked to hear more about what the adult Burroughs thought of everything that happened after he finally walked away from this insane world and struck out on his own.
