This was an extremely sobering book to read. Perhaps not the most uplifting choice for my first book of 2009 -- but I am glad I read it. It has changed the way I think about many things, including the U.N. as an institution. I must have been living in some naive fantasy land. Upon finishing, I don't feel anything positive at all -- in fact the emotion I am feeling to most right now is shame. I plan to read more on Rwanda since the genocide.
