This was a Kindle freebie. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and would have given it five stars had it not been for two things: First, even though I adored the story, I was extremely disappointed with the ending. It was too abrupt. I wanted to read so much more about the relationship between Ken and Joan, which brings me to my second issue. I'm a romantic by heart. It's my genre of choice; my ONLY genre, and while Stuck in the Middle definitely had romantic elements, I would have billed this more of an inspirational than a romance. It was as if the romance was an after thought. That being said, this was a very inspiring book which got me thinking about my own spirituality and faith (which I'm sure was what the author REALLY wanted us to get from this book). I found many similiarities between myself and Joan in that aspect, so the message for me personally came through loud and clear. Again, this was a very, very good read; however, I wish the romance between the Dr. and his neighbor that finally came to fruition at the end would have been expanded upon.

Tonya I thought the book ended abruptly too. I actually accidently read this trilogy backwards and the other 2 were much better
