This book is an interesting twist on what readers have come to expect from Neil Gaiman that have only read his adult stories. Yes, it's dark. Yes, it's twisted. Yes, it's ironic. After all, it is Gaiman writing it.

However, all of these qualities manage to work together to make a story that is intriguing to children and adults alike. Not too scary, but with enough suspense to keep reading.

I would say this is one of the better children's books I've read in a while.
