I've been lamenting this series for the past several volumes and yet somehow, despite this book being almost everything I hate about the series, really works.

The majority is Ichigo's (final?) showdown with Grimmjow and it's mostly fighting with some background on the villain's origin. Despite Ichigo's normally annoying stubborn "hit it harder" mentality, these two manage to bring out more from each other than has any other combat pairing to date.

Can't explain why, I guess Tite Kubo just had a good month or something.

It also has a back-up origin story about Hitsugaya, which also provides a nice finisher to a strong issue.
