bookshelves: never-finished

I realized that if I am going to enjoy a book about this book (K. by Roberto Calasso), I really ought to read this book. Also, what better book to bring to jury duty today?

Emma I couldn't finish it either.

Antoine Honestly, I can see that Kafka's novels represent a kind of artistic achievement, but I find his short stories much easier to appreciate. The novels have an unbounded and unplotted quality that I can't come to grips with at all. Not to mention the total hopelessness.
