Knucklehead is children's book author Jon Scieszka's nostalgic and somewhat self-indulgent look back at his childhood growing up in the 1960s in a family of six boys. A few passages were funny, but others fell flat. Fortunately, no episode is longer than three or four pages. I might recommend this book to a struggling fifth- or sixth-grade reader who is interested in fulfilling a biography reading requirement. The book has few difficult vocabulary words and is only slightly longer than 100 pages.
