This story is a fable which was later made into a movie by Disney. The moral of the story is to live life to its fullest because the wheel of life only goes around once. As Mae Tuck says:
"Life's got to be lived no matter how long or short, you got to take what comes."
This is the premis of the conflict of the story. The Tucks are stuck in time never growing older, never dying as the result of drinking from a mysterious spring in the forest. Their secret is revealed when a young girl, Winnie Foster happens upon Jesse Tuck drinking from the spring and has to be kidnapped in order to convince her not to drink from the spring, and not to tell their secret. The secret is in danger of being revealed anyway because of a mysterious man in a yellow suit who overhears the secret.
