As I have said in other reviews of Coelho's books...I am a big fan of Paulo Coelho's work. I can say that he is my favorite author. And I believe eventually time will show him to be an important writer of this time.
I remember reading The Valkyries and I bought it for friends to share with everyone. Many of his titles are a part of my permanent library.
Okay so all that say I was a little disappointed by The Zahir. I read somewhere that Coelho puts himself into many of his books....where he tells tales from his life just retold in a magical story that transforms the way we look at the world. So with that in mind I read The Zahir...it actually disappointed me. When I read it just as a book to enjoy and maybe get a life lesson from...then it was a better book but still not one that really got to me like his other books. Because I don't believe there is that moment of transformation for any of the main characters which we've come to expect from Coelho's books.
