This book is well edited and compulsively readable, but that is where my compliments end. I found little to no redeeming value in the content- each brief chapter includes new heights of horror and violence by and against children, women, animals, and the mentally handicapped. The author has a vivid imagination and brings to life what most people hope they never dream about. I kept hoping the plot would round out a bit and that the characters would develop into the young men they were supposed to become at the reformatory. Instead, the plot wore on through predictable "twists and turns," the characters sinking to new lows in each chapter.

This is the most disappointing book I've read in a long time. Can't say I'd recommend it to anyone but my worst enemies.
