Woman gives up everything for her own happiness. But it's a tragedy anyway. When will literary female characters learn to be happy at garden parties?

****************

409897 I remember we had a long discussion about this book...I didn't like the character at all if I looked at it from today's perspective, but I guess in the context of when it was written it was supposed to be liberating...I guess...
