I read this book about a billion years ago (seriously, like over a decade, which would have made me... too young to have a chance with it). All I remember is that it was long. And super confusing. And then I gave it to my mom, because it deals with lots of Jew-ness, which she loves. I doubt she ever finished it, because did I mention it was really freaking long?

30800 Whew. I was a smidge concerned when writing that that people would be offended, or think I was racist or something. But I am Jewish (by birth if not by belief), and my mom does love all things Jew, and that is how I usually talk, so I figured what the hell, right?

I'm glad you thought it was funny tho. That's a relief!

60698 I thought it was hysterical. Maybe because it sounds like something I would say. One of my best friends from college is Jewish and I used to give him tons of shit, not because of his Jew-ness, but because Jew rhymes with practically everything . It's just such a versatile, fun word to say. It might often make me sound like I'm an asshole (not that I'm not), but sometimes I can't help myself!

Regarding....you know....Philip Roth, I think he's a great writer, but I'm reluctant to span outside of what I've already read of his. My bartender is presently reading a book of his, which I perused, and it seemed great, but now i can't remember what it was. Paperback....black cover....should probably research. I'll get back to you.
