The Mist
by Stephen King
by Stephen King
My experience with Stephen King is that sometimes I like his works and sometimes I am bored from them, so for me it was totally unexpected to enjoy this short novel so much. The story is about a freak summer storm, which is followed by a bizzare, unnatural mist, which contains unspeakable horror, possibly from a military experiment gone horribly wrong, probably from another dimension, far more savage than ours. A father is trapped with his little kid in a supermarket with other people and they are trying to survive the bizzare events which are likely to end their lives and their world. The story is told very well, it is awful creepy and a real pageturner. I love this kind of supernatural horror, especially if it is combined with strong character development as in here.
"The Mist" is truly a first-class horror.
