A great first outing by this author. Not a novel so much as a collection of musings, suppositions and alternative takes on the famous book by Homer (which is really just a collection of musings and suppositions in it's own right). The problem is too many vignettes. Pardon a really bad metaphor, but reading this book is overindulging in a box of rich chocolates. Still, a taste from time to time is either rewarding or beguiling.
