I disagreed with the first line of the book, "Teaching is art." I think teaching is a combination of art and science. In my mind, the scientific aspect connects to education research and the impact is has upon instruction. Instruction itself--ah yes, that's art.

I longed for a bit more research infused throughout the test (like Jim Burke's Effective Instruction), but I was impressed in content coverage. It's like Ragu' spaghetti sauce--it's all in there.(less)
