I would anxiously await the comic section of the newspaper just to read these. I used to cut out the comics and post them on my bullitin board in college...send them to boys in notes...send them to my friends. Weirdly enough I wanted a boy like Calvin...I think I got 4...yikes! Even as a mom I still post some of the comics on my fridge. My kids LOVE these books so much they are falling apart.
Why do I love Calvin, he asks great questions, has a great imagination, can have philosophical conversations w/ his stuffed animal best friend...somehow I can relate. My favorite ones include the time he tried to move the car and it went in the ditch, when Hobbes cut his hair and any of the deranged snowman ones, any of the ones where his teacher is an alien/dinosaur and the one where he's pounding nails into the coffee table.
