An entertaining and informative batch of essays written over a 10 year period by an American who moved to Costa Rica in 1972. Starting out as a cattlegrower and rice farmer in gradually metamorphosed into an the owner of a private national wildlife refuge that has a fabulously successful eco-tourist business. These are his and his families stories of an area of the world they thoroughly entranced with. Inspiring, often funny, sometimes sobering. And yes...capuchin monkeys love cacao nuts!
