Eh, stale popcorn. Not particularly complex, probably plays well with about half the Twilight audience - the ones who liked the sequels. Kind of a book about superficial high school angst that just happens to have faeries in it - if you're mentally out of high school, you're going to get frustrated with this book. Lots of well-worn plot points strung together with girly phone chat and stupid decisions. Everyone's gorgeous and hot and sexy, I'm just a plain Jane human, does he like me for who I really am or because of my family, oh my I have a secret magical birthright, blah blah. There's no there there. Not to mention the magical birthright just ends up making Dana the ball in the world's most tepid game of keep-away, which is always a great setup for stories with a female lead. If you like repeatedly muttering the word "...dumbass" at the main character of your series, then this might be the one for you!

The best thing I got out of this book is the impulse to look up a "hot posset" recipe, which is sort of like drunken oatmeal. And even that will need a fair amount of tinkering to make it really enjoyable.
