After reading this, all I can say is thank God I am no longer in high school.

This book has sold so well for so long, and now, having finally read it, I understand why. It's just the sort of book that a teen will inhale and worship. It's emotional and page turning and deals with just about every tough topic teens face. And I think it's a good book for teens to read in order to understand exactly how one silly note or rumor can change of person's life.

I'm not sure how I feel about the writing style, though. It was interesting and creative, but I think the cassette tapes limited character development. Still, there are many teen books about suicide, and I did appreciate this different twist to the story.
