I loved the Forest of Hands and Teeth. This book is not as satisfying. I just could not get past the whining of Gabry. I know that the plot is pretty good but this girl is a drama queen. She gets caught in a situation that is way beyond what she can handle at her age and with her lack of experience.
I would have liked this book way more if Carrie Ryan, the author, had not made Gabry (short for Gabrielle) such a whining, indecisive person. I understand that she has had a very sheltered life but it seems that someone this naive should not get too far in this book.
