A powerful and original story about making the choice to live on the streets because it's the only way out. The story's painful and dark, but it's done in a quiet sort of way. It begs readers to set aside their preconceived notions of homelessness and understand why it is Joy and others like her would deliberately choose this lifestyle. Along the way, there's an intense thread of abuse and also a little romance.

Though I liked Holly's first book, I feel like this one is a huge and exciting step forward.
