Small Sacrifices: A True Story of Passion and Murder by Ann Rule
I think that, while Rule is certainly not the writer Capote was, this is a must-read for anyone wishing to write, or in particular, write creative non-fiction. Certainly this is one of the best of a small genre including In Cold Blood--a crime depicted in such a well-researched, multi-faceted way that the evil of it is fully felt and in no way cheapened or sensationalized. I remember reading this at a very young age and feeling I'd read something very crucial to my writing.
