bookshelves: young-adult, 1-10

This is a humorous story about a boy and his experiences with hie first summer job. Gary Paulsen does an excellent job writing about the exciting encounters with thugs, prize winning boxers, stockbrokers and employees. Highly funny and unexpected turn outs. This boy receives a lawn mower for his 12th birthday from his grandma, which turns out to be the best money making machine ever encountered.

I liked it a lot. It was a really quick read and a nice change from the realistic fiction genres that tend to be depressing. I didn't know that Gary Paulsen wrote funny books as well as adventure ones. It was highly unrealistic but a good read.
