liked it

I enjoyed this book enough because I like the author's writing style but it was no where near as good as the first one (the curse of the sequel!) Sometimes it seemed to me that the author just wanted to present the history of this particular time in history in NYC and it bogged down the story. For example, there was tons about different acts on Vaudeville, but it almost amounted to just a listing. And the story line was a little off and opened up some questions that reflected on the first book, in a way you didn't want to think about. The end started picking up and then sort of fell flat - I liked what he ended up doing with it but it was abrupt and left too many questions unanswered.

Dorothy I don't think I read this one. Looking forward to your review.

Kathy So far so good. Even all those years later, his style is the same....
