I FINALLY FINISHED. this is definitely a book that benefits from being read all at once. reading it chapter by chapter made it really hard to get into, but once i settled down yesterday and started reading, i couldn't put it down. hagrid, snape, and dumbles are still a trifecta of asshattery! umbridge is still, in some ways, a better school administrator than dumbles! sirius black is still DANCING!

ok, but really. i had forgotten that draco wrote "weasley is our king" which, HEE. they're so boyfriends. there is a lot of really good, subtle foreshadowing in this book, which i appreciate. ginny is a total BAMF. i had forgotten that dumbledore basically waved his hand and said that there was no way snape was hurting sirius with his snide remarks.

i really hate dumbles and snape. like, really really. dumbledore is such an irresponsible ASSHOLE sometimes, and snape is a childish BULLY. snape should know better, but ironically dumbledore gives him a pass on everything because of his tragic past or whatever. also, i especially liked dumbledore flipping out and telling umbridge not to manhandle his students after standing by while someone worked a memory charm on said student. dick dick dick dick dick! i'm not saying umbridge wasn't wrong or out of line, but that doesn't excuse dumbledore's behavior!

most importantly: sirius black :( those chapters are still so hard to read. i just get so anxious and worked up, and then he goes through the veil and i'm too busy making sadfaces at harry and remus to really pay attention. sadfaces forever, padfoot.

now i need to talk myself into reading HBP. ugh.
