really liked it
Read in January, 2011

I am a Paula Deen fan (Minnesota girl sucker for warm southern charm), but I probably would not have read her memoir if I hadn't found out that she, like my own mother, had agoraphobia and, like my own mother, discovered what it was from an episode of Phil Donahue. I thought reading it would help me understand my mom better, bring her a little closer to me, and I was right. But even on a less personal level I found her story compelling and triumphant and hearing her read it made it even more so (again, sucker for that accent and dialect). I don't know if its a "great book" if you can't make a personal connection to it, but fans of Paula's should definitely pick it up.
