This book was entertaining enough. The plot was decent. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, and there were a few bits that weren't terribly historically accurate, but overall it was enjoyable.

The reason I gave it so few stars, though, is because about half way through it become unabashedly pornographic. I was actually uncomfortable reading it at times. As I do a lot of my reading on the train, I found I was curling into a ball trying to ensure that no one was reading over my shoulder. Had I found out someone _was_ reading over my shoulder, I would have died from shame. Personally, I feel being that...graphic... about sexual details is totally unnecessary and distracts from the story line. If I wanted to read porn, I'd buy an actual romance novel. Not something that claims to be a historical vampire novel.

That being said, I liked the characters and I will read the sequel to find out what happened to them. Hopefully I won't die of embarrassment while I do it.
