This was a visual experience, tripping the purple fantastic with extraordinary artwork that greatly aides in chronicling the youth of Jimi Hendrix. The sparse writing is a lyrical ode to an American genius that forever changed the American musical landscape. The end notes do delve briefly into Jimi's rock lifestyle, and does acknowledge that drugs contributed to his untimely and early death. For ages 12 and up, and fans of Jimi Hendrix.
