Kristin's review of Inkspell
Inkspell (Book 2) by Cornelia Funke
This book was way more stressful than Inkheart and so, for that reason, I didn't find myself yearning to read it quite the way I did with the first volume. However, it's an intriguing read and I'm emotionally invested in some of the characters now so I'm hooked. I was bummed when I realized during the last few chapters that no way was this going to be neatly wrapped up and a third book must be out there. I looked online, and yes, there is one coming...in October! I'm not used to having to wait (as I'm usually not very "current" on my reading list)!
I don't know how old I'd want my kids to be before reading this series...definitely too much for elementary kids, I think. (But then, I think last couple Harry Potter books are too much for elementary kids, so who knows?) I found it pretty intense and it had a lot of scary suspense...and the third book is called Inkdeath! Aye, aye, aye!
