Fantasy haters need not apply to reading this book review. If the word worldbuilding has no particular meaning to you, if you have no idea who Tamora Pierce is, if you cringe at the thought of epic fantasy, The Girl Of Fire And Thorns by Rae Carson is not the book for you. If you love a hero journey where a character finds themselves, get on this book stat. If you love when characters die out of left field, hop onto The Girl of Fire And Thorns love train. If you prefer your books to have legit endings, even when they are part of a series, pick up a copy of Rae Carson’s debut.

I was unsure of this one, due to both of the negatives which you explained. I adore both of Kristin Cashore's books, and though I'm no fantasy expert, I would say I love the fantasy books I've read. Your review has definitely made me want to give this a try. Very informative!

Totally just added this to my TBR from reading your review/blog! I'm wondering now if I should stop my Highlander escapades and rip into this...That's how pumped up you were (about this and the second..but one must travel through the first to get to the second! :) Thanks for a great review...I'm excited about this one..and it's been awhile since I've been excited about a book I haven't already read!

I'm about half way through this...and I have to say, Thanks! I am loving it:) I totally adore Elisa and although the writing style is simple..it is certainly not simple-minded. It's very hard to put down! I've been looking for a new book that REALLY REALLY held my attention...thanks for helping me find it!
