Flying Changes (Riding Lessons, #2)
by Sara Gruen
by Sara Gruen
I was hoping for something like "Water for Elephants" but with horses. What I got was a formula "Chick Lit" book complete with a spoiled teen, a wise mother, a self absorbed woman facing 40 and her patient and dedicated boyfriend. While some of the horse stuff added up, I was disappointed that there were some major inconsistencies in the believability of the equine portion (ie: daughter's horse is some mustang bred thingie that excelles in dressage, has a wreck x-country in a two star event, but then turns around and wins a Grand Prix jumping competition - all in less than a month).
It was written in present tense, first person. Interesting and moves the story along quickly, so that might explain why I read it all in one sitting. It must have gotten my attention somehow. Probably a good airplane read.
