really liked it

Very good, in a distinctly Maupin way. Funny, light, with lots of little insights into San Francisco, beyond the well-trod tourist paths. But, I do think you have to have followed the whole series to really get it, and to understand the evolution of the characters, especially Mary Ann. Not a chore, by the way: The whole series is really a delight, especially for anyone, like me and my wife, who have roots in the city.
