Marsena's review of The Last Chinese Chef
The Last Chinese Chef by Nicole Mones
This was a somewhat dense book, not to be skimmed, but savored. I loved all the food in it, and the way the character's growth was mirrored in her learning about Chinese cuisine. At times, though, there was too much explanation, as if the author felt it her duty to educate the reader fully, even if it interrupted the forward movement of the story. But I still enjoyed it enough to recommend it.
