Elizabeth's review of Savvy
Savvy by Ingrid Law (Goodreads author!)
Whoops! Can't review this one here. Have to do it professionally (consarn it). In any case, I think the first chapter is a strong strong piece of work. The rest of the book never quite reaches its full potential, but that isn't to say that it isn't a great great read. I'm looking forward to Law's other books.

I'm looking forward to your review on this one. I like the story's premise, and the cover is mostly good. It's that font for the title that drives me nuts. Oh, and all the purple. The cover and the book's premise confused me with the book's audience-- not sure who it's for.
I'm a fan, though I've definitely heard mixed things from the other people who have read the book. I think it has a definite audience amongst the 8-12 year olds, but I'll try to form my thoughts into a review relatively soon.
Yay! I'm very excited to hear what you think of it. I read it... but something still sort of makes me cautious about Savvy. Oh, the premise of the book confused me at first too- I think it is the word savvy. I got this with a box of other books, so I just glanced at the back. I'm also dubious about it being a book bought for the film rights as well.
The print edition of School Library Journal. Give it a month or two though. This is the first time I've read a book and then was sent it for review. I review for Kirkus too, but in those cases I never know if I can confess to authoring one review or another.
Yep. It was the School Library Journal review. There's a small snippet of it up on Savvy's Amazon.com page available for viewing.
Hmmm. I went to amazon.com and there were only 10 reviews, none of them with your name attached. I think I missed something....
