SPOILER FREE - HAPPY DAAAAAAAAAAANCE!!!!

Well, frak me, spank my petunia and call me Susie!! If your Jericho Barrons, that is. He could call me Susie, Fiona, Mac (Miss Lane if your nasty). Whatever the hell he wants to call me.
Gawd, if you thought Barrons was naughtee with double e's in the other books, I'm here to tell you that he is naughteeeeeee with infinite e's in this one!! Seriously, some of the other girls have already agreed with me that we need to find this man and spank him. So, who's with me? SO SAY WE ALL! Sorry, I know I keep throwing Battlestar Galactica references in her but I only because I love these books so much! They are EPIC. Epic like Battlestar.
Oh by the way, Barrons, who's your favorite little rascal?

Is it................ Spanky??
One of my favorite scenes between Barrons and Mac:
He shakes me. "Say my name."
"No."
"Damn it, would you just cooperate."
"I do not know that word, 'cooperate.' "
"Obviously," he growls.
"I think you make up words."
"I do not make up words."
"Do, too."
"Do not."
"Too."
"Not."
I laugh.
"Woman, you make me crazed," he mutters.
A perfect summary of their relationship. Simple, yet intensely complicated.
Okay so I'm not usually a strictly romance or erotic book reader. I like some tenderness to my meatballs. I do NOT like them overdone. This is faaaaar from overdone. There was tons of set-up and build-up before anything close to an explicit scene happens and even THEN, it is still under certain unnamed extenuating circumstances. And the tension and passion is honestly the most intense thing I have yet to read. If you are at all uncomfortable reading about sexual situations, then this is not for you. Not at all. Maybe the first three, but then, by the time you get to this one -- you may be changing your tune.
This woman really knows how to throw spikes at you at exactly the right moment, making you unable to dodge them. She loves her cliffhangers, and I am hanging on every word.
Up until chapter three, I was a little ticked. I did not like the alternate perspective that we were getting. The thoughts were fragmented and childish. I like her as a character but not as a perspective character.
After that, geez, I was going crazy. Barrons is so effing hot. When she describes the sound he makes.... Whew! Anyway..... I think a visual aid is in order.

Hummina, hummina. Humminaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
I'm sorry but I had to post this guy, too. He has the long hair. And look at those eyes.

I didn't like it at all when Barrons wasn't around for so long, and that was more often then I had expected. But this whole series moves ridiculously fast, so it doesn't phase me as much as I always think it will. It's the anticipation that keeps me going.
And the ending: WHAT THE EFFING HELL?????? GRUMBLE, GRUMBLE.
A recurring thought seems to be: "How can this possibly get ANY better!" and then it does.
Another recurring thought: "How can this possibly get ANY worse?" and then it does.
I had to start Shadowfever before I wrote this review, because I had to at least know if it was who I thought it was. And that better not be permanent or I will hate KMM forever!
I'm not happy about the ending but I'm happy about the book, and the series, and generally about my love for Barrons!
Well, back to my happy dance. And if you want to be happy too then READ THIS SERIES!!!

I'm doing the happy dance but I'm not happy about it.
Yeah, okay. So this is more of a scared and reserved happy dance but it sums up how I felt at the end.....
My review for the first book, Darkfever. Spoiler FREE.
For the second book, Bloodfever. Spoiler Alert!!!
The third book, Faefever. Spoiler FREE.
The fifth and final book, Shadowfever. Spoiler Alert!!!

So say we all. And you know your Battlestar references make me so happy. And, I mean, isn't making me happy a great reason to do it? Muahaha.
(also, I loved the Miss Lane, if ya nasty comment.)
It better have some "happy dances"!! If you know what I mean. Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.*whisper* (That's code for SEX) Oh, I'm sorry did I say it that loud? Whoops. Hahahha. LOL.
Oh my! Just when I thought your reviews couldn't be more entertaining, you do something crazy like throw in a half naked man! Please say we'll be Goodreads friends forever..
Oh yes, half-naked men and all!!! I'm actually about to post another pic that I found, but this ones just a face. Sorry.
No apologies, he's perfect. All I had to do is imagine his beautiful face on the other man's beautiful body. Then you don't even want to know what I imagined after that LOL
Just write it down and post it as fan fiction!! Voilà! That's what alot of fan fiction is -- People living out their fantasies vicariously through fictional characters. I have some ideas myself...... Lol. I think most people do when it comes to Barrons.
This was my favorite book in the series, aside from the nasty cliffie at the end. Great review. Excellent use of cats.
Every single book I've read after Darkfever has been my favorite until the next one - then the next is my favorite, and so on and so on.
Fan fiction, huh? I just might give it a try. I must warn you though that some of my fantasies involve an ab rocket and a fistful of hand-held bug zappers. Definitely not for the squeamish.
Lol, Valentina. Barrons is going to be detremintal to every future male character of every book I read after this series.
Thanks, Nic! Cant wait for you to become addicted - You just watch, you will be as twitterpated as the rest of us!
Cat wrote: "Fan fiction, huh? I just might give it a try. I must warn you though that some of my fantasies involve an ab rocket and a fistful of hand-held bug zappers. Definitely not for the squeamish."There probably is a fan fiction for that.
AH wrote: There probably is a fan fiction for that.I'm pretty sure there is fan fiction for everything!!! If you want to read about Ro and V'lane getting it on in Antartica while riding a cartoon elephant waving a windmill with his trunk -- you could probably even find that.
I was amazed by some of the stuff I found even in the Bible section on ff.net one night when I was curious. Holy moly. Er, so to speak.
Lyndsey - Is that hypothetical or something that you have actually written but you're too embarrassed to take credit for it?
Not true. I feel like I don't know you at all. I would have guessed your ideal fantasy location would be the Kalahari Desert and your fictional animal of choice would be the wild and crazy Tazmanian Devil. See how far off I was?
LMAO! Actually I prefer the Tunisian desert (it's where the Tatooine scenes in Star Wars were filmed) and the Tasmanian Tiger, which unfortunately no longer exists (as opposed to the almost certain existence of a cartoon elephant that waves a windmill in it's trunk).
Great picture of David Gandy you posted there! Great review by the way! Always lookin' forward to your reviews :)
OMG...YOU are hilarious. Hahahahahahahaha!!! Your pics of Barrons are right on girl. I just loved your review (even though this one was the slowest in my opinion in the series so far). Great review & Thanks bunches for making me laugh!
please tell me jerricho barrens doesn't die!! or somehow comes back to life!!! i don't think i can read the next book without him!!!
I am on this book in the series and I'm hopelessly addicted! I've been in a freakin' trance for the past week. And your reviews are my favorite. So hilarious!Ms. Lane if you're nasty! Hahaha! He could call me whatever he likes!
Whoa, LOVE the photos you found (for JB)!!!!!! The second photo holds a special place in my heart, because, HOLY CRAP, but the first one really captures his dangerous edge. I want to put them both up on my wall, and stare at them all day long. It would do wonders for my productivity, I'm sure.
Hello Lyndsey, I've read your comments and am frustrated...unlike most woman (but not you apparently) it is not a state I will remain in for long. Ok, down to business. I am sorta new to GOODREADS, I have reasoned that you posted pics of some sort, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to 'get to them'. Just not able to 'open', 'download', 'view' etc. O, by the way, I am SuzanneG. (SuzanneGoldberg), a few of my reviews have appeared mostly on AMAZON, I did post a review here on GOODREADS on LADY TAKES A PRIDE by Ashley Shay & Josie Hunter. Back to KMM, I adore the erotic or at least well written love/sex scenes. I loved KMMs HIGHLANDER SERIES. But...and heres the problem, cant get a straight answer from anybody about these books. I have come to the conclusion that what sex there is must be done 'in the head' so to speak (as in Daegeous dream input into Chloe dreams, from THE DARK HIGHLANDER byKMM), that is until the 3rd or 4th book of the FEVER series, then it becomes real. So, after all that explaination, could you answer please:1. Is there at least some sort of sex scenes in the FEVER series,
2. If you cant answer that directly, am I sorta close with my assumption re DAEGEOUS AND CHLOES 'initial' sex via the thought maybe?
3.I encourage you or anybody for that matter to check my review both here on GOODREADS re THE LADY....and on AMAZON to give you an idea of my personalty. A few years ago in my early bartending days, I had been described as 'somewhere between the life of the party and a disgrace'..they were correct and have only fine tuned my personality in the following years. If further clairification of my tastes in a well written book/sex-love scene may I again say I love KMM and would without hesitation say AdamBlack would be in my top 3 of men I would happily and eagerly do,(will gladly supply the names of the top 5 I would do OR be grouped with, maybe that should read SANDWICHED BETWEEN, OR THE SEXUAL OUTLETS OF)hmmmm. Another example of my tastes in a well written sex/love scene within a equally well written book like KMM, is in a next generation of 'A' list authors IMHO by the name of Kerrigan Byrne. She has only 2 novellas out but, well done to both (UNSPOKEN&UNWILLING). And finally..
4. May I say 'PLEASED TO MEET CHA'. I am a little 'gun shy' with GOODREADS. I have responded on 2 other occasions and GOODREADS did not/would not/refused to post them. The first I took as a mistake (I have to say here that these comments were made in the private group discussion areas under LOOKING FOR HIGHLANDER SERIES WITH WELL DONE SEX/LOVE SCENES and the other discussion I think was in the other Highlander discussion group.
In closing, let me say in advance that I never intentionally post things to insult or hurt anybody in any way shape or form. I state clearly that I have that 'MIND TO MOUTH' disease...if it comes to mind its out the mouth. This is a very blatant and irrefutable result of 'blue coller' bartending for a fair amount of time. So I do admit to, OVER THE TOP, OUTRAGEOUS, CANT BELIEVE SHE ADMITTED IT LET ALONE SAID IT, and the ever entertaining,CANT BELIEVE SHE ADMITS TO DOING IT and IN SUCH A PUBLIC FORUM. I make no excuses for my behavior, BUT I will apogize if I offended you.
Thank you in advance for your time. Thank you in advance for any answers. I have no objection (at all) with responding here on GOODREADS. If you prefer to answer in private so as to not post any spoilers to the general buying public then PAAALEASE send to:sgoldberg02@comcast.net. That invite is extended to all.
Happy reading and satisfying private moments.
Regards,
Suzanne Goldberg (suzanneg)

And this is coming from a girl who, pre-reading the Fever series, always HATED the sex scenes to be found in paranormal romance and urban fantasy. But this was done SO WELL -- especially given the 'extenuating circumstances.' Also, it's pretty obvious by now that NO female can resist the power and lure of Jericho Barrons. It's practically impossible!
I hope the last book will have a few happy dances in store for you too, Lyndsey. ;)
