Phenomenal book. I sympathized greatly with the characters in Fallon's short stories. The loneliness, the impact of war on families, the impact of war on relationships and the tangled web in which these collide in regards to the two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. I brushed away tears on more than few occasions and devoured this book in a few days. I highly recommend reading these stories -- if only to gain a perspective into the lives of soldiers and wives/girlfriends.

Fallon knits in emotion while writing about the complexity of returning and leaving to family, both in the sense of a US-based family and the extended family of the troop/squadron.
