By far the most disappointing of the Anne books though worth reading if you are a fan. By the time Montgomery wrote this she was thoroughly sick of Anne and wanted to be writing other books, but her publisher pushed for more. This one and Anne of Windy Poplars were written after the others, so there is a hurried feel about them. Indeed, Ingleside is mostly made up of vignettes easily found in her magazine short stories. Still, one's collection isn't complete without it!
