This installment revolves around the Montana Pack with a crisis of death and rebirth. Eve is killed in a senseless car accident and ascends to their version of Chanku heaven where, surprisingly, she displaces the current goddess. Turns out Lianna has been doing a really lousy job as a goddess and she gets kicked down to earth as a mortal while Eve takes her place as goddess.

Eve's mate is grief-stricken and refuses to have anything to do with Lianna so naturally, the whole story is about love, forgiveness, and acceptance. It's quite a rocky patch for the group as everyone is unhappy with losing Eve and even more unhappy with Lianna's track record as their old goddess.

My only complaint about this particular story is that it's all too easy for Lianna to accept her "downfall" and for most of the pack to accept her into their lives. There should have been more tension in their interactions. Although, considering that this series is about love and acceptance, it is, at least, running true to form.
