Firefly Lane

This book was such a disappointment. The characters were completely one dimensional and not at all interesting. The storyline was filled with cliches from every bad Lifetime movie. About three quarters of the way through, I somehow knew how it would end (because it was the one cliche that hadn't been hit yet). The book itself is primarily dialouge and not good one at that. Avoid.

LOL.. I loved the book, but you are SOOO right. I was in the mood for chick lit, so I loved it, but you're absolutely right about Lifetime movies! LOL!
Embarrassingly cheesy book. I grew up in the same time period, but the author's attempt to include references to it was way overdone. I cringed a lot! I also never really connected to the characters and found their friendship to be so unlikely that it was not believable. I kept reading it, trying to give it a chance, but it never got better. I figured since I was over halfway through at that point, I may as well finish it.
I"m with Rose! I wrote my review then read yours and saw that you said pretty much exactly what I said. I can't believe how many people loved this book. What does that mean??
Started this a few weeks ago and stopped 100 pages in because I found it slow and agree with the one dimensional comment. Then I read Hannah's Magic Hour and liked it enough to give this another try. Hoping it just starts slow and picks up
