Read in January, 2008

This book was such a disappointment. The characters were completely one dimensional and not at all interesting. The storyline was filled with cliches from every bad Lifetime movie. About three quarters of the way through, I somehow knew how it would end (because it was the one cliche that hadn't been hit yet). The book itself is primarily dialouge and not good one at that. Avoid.

Riesa that is exactly what i thought....bad Lifetime network movie! I think if you saw Beaches, you knew how this one would end...

message 2: by Kay (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kay I really liked this book, what about the mother/daughter relationships?

Rose Couldn't have reviewed this better myself. Actually it sounds alot like my review.

Mary Ellen Gulotti I'm glad someone else felt the same way I did about this book.

Maggie LOL.. I loved the book, but you are SOOO right. I was in the mood for chick lit, so I loved it, but you're absolutely right about Lifetime movies! LOL!

Lisa Embarrassingly cheesy book. I grew up in the same time period, but the author's attempt to include references to it was way overdone. I cringed a lot! I also never really connected to the characters and found their friendship to be so unlikely that it was not believable. I kept reading it, trying to give it a chance, but it never got better. I figured since I was over halfway through at that point, I may as well finish it.

Gizmology I"m with Rose! I wrote my review then read yours and saw that you said pretty much exactly what I said. I can't believe how many people loved this book. What does that mean??

Carol Brill Started this a few weeks ago and stopped 100 pages in because I found it slow and agree with the one dimensional comment. Then I read Hannah's Magic Hour and liked it enough to give this another try. Hoping it just starts slow and picks up

Natalie I couldn't finish it! I agree with Lisa. I cringed a lot too. Cheesy is a good word to describe it.

Michelle Premo I'm about 25% through it, about to give up on it, it's so boring.

Melba B. It was too long and drawn out and too soap-opera-esque.

Melissa Martin I gave it 3 stars for the idea that could have been good. I noticed the author dropped me as a friend when I only listed it as 3 stars. Sorrrryyy. I listed another of her books 5 stars because it was so good, but I didn't like this book that much at all.
