Saffy's Angel - your stereotypical girl finds out she's adopted and goes on a quest to discover who she truly is. Honestly, it's been done to death, and Hilary McKay didn't do all that spectacularly at rewriting this time-old tale. But I wouldn't go so far as to call it "bad" - I enjoyed it, and at least it was a quick read. Don't let me discourage you from reading it - if you like the whole quest to find oneself deal, then this is the book for you. It just wasn't for me.
