Jltpalmer's review of The Best of Everything
The Best of Everything by Rona Jaffe
I didn't dislike this book as much as most of the people in our book club but I also won't rate it as a favorite. I think the real title of this book should have been "grasping at anything". I pitied the characters in this book. They were shallow, indecisive and needed the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. I don't think that a clingy, needy, stalky, only interested in the corporate world until they found a rich man is an inspirational book for women. I'm aware that this is a raw book for it's time but I think it went in the wrong direction.
